ABOUT RFH HOCKEY

The Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School ice hockey team was founded in 1998 and is a completely self-funded program. RFH Hockey is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization specifically created to fund the team's activities.

RFH plays in the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) Shore Conference's Class A North Division and is classified as a "Public B" school. RFH Hockey has a long and proud history of achievements:

  • 2015 Handchen Cup finalist

  • 2013 NJSIAA Public B Round of 16

  • 2012 Dowd Cup Champion

  • 2004 NJSIAA Public Round of 16

  • 2003 NJSIAA Public Round of 16

  • 2001 American D Champion

The Shore Conference consists of twenty-seven high schools from Monmouth and Ocean counties. There are three divisions in the conference, with each consisting of nine schools. The Class A North Division:

  • Christian Brothers Academy

  • Howell

  • Middletown North

  • Middletown South

  • Red Bank Catholic

  • Rumson-Fair Haven

  • St. John Vianney

  • St. Rose / Donovan Catholic

  • Wall

Fourth-year head coach Anthony Matarazzo and assistant coach Eric Zullo have brought a brand of hockey characterized by its fast pace and team approach. As a result, the Dawgs have become one of the strongest teams in the Shore Conference. The team is extremely focused on its goals this season and is expected to compete at a very high level. In the coming years, with a rich pool of talent poised to enter RFH, the program will continue to serve as a robust platform for those students who want to pursue their passion for hockey while proudly representing their school.

The varsity and junior varsity teams play their home games at the Red Bank Armory Ice Complex and Jersey Shore Arena, respectively.
